Music Victoria Symphony presents THE AMADEUS SYMPHONY 2013-10-20 14:30:00

Classics One in Series

David Lockington, conductor/Christie Reside, flute

This season's Classics explore great works of Sturm and Drang (Storm and Stress), when extremes of emotion were given free reign in contrast to the constraints of classicism. Mozart's Symphony No.25, prominently featured throughout the film, Amadeus, was a key work of Sturm and Drang. You'll also hear Vaugh Williams' exquisite Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.

Elgar: Serenade for Strings
C.P.E. Bach: Flute Concerto
Vaughn Williams: Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis
Mozart: Symphony No.25
