Lecture/Seminar Individual Differences in Risky Decision-making 2013-09-20 15:00:00
Description

Speaker: Adam Krawitz, Psyc Dept., University of Victoria

Abstract:

Kahneman and Tversky’s (1992) Cumulative Prospect Theory has been quite successful at explaining the overall trends in decision making under risk in the population, but can it explain the diversity of individual behaviors that hide behind these overall patterns? And, in a “typical” population, how diverse is risky choice anyway? I will discuss recent work that addresses these questions.
