Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research: Pop-Up Shop!

Do you want to involve people with lived experience as partners in your research and respond to local health priorities? Do you have questions about compensation; reimbursement; how to write a patient engagement plan; or how patients can contribute to KT efforts? Are you trying to find grant opportunities or track down potential stakeholders? Drop in any time during the day to learn more about CIHR’s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research and consult with BC SUPPORT Unit Vancouver Island Centre staff about your research. Our team includes Research Navigators in Victoria and Nanaimo; a Patient Research Liaison; and a Knowledge Broker. We provide free support to researchers, clinicians, patient partners, policy makers, and healthcare decision-makers who are carrying out health-related research. Our Centre is a partnership between Island Health, the University of Victoria, and the Island Medical program, with financial support from CIHR, the BC Ministry of Health, and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.
